Tell us a little bit about how long you’ve been in business and how you got started.
LiLLiES is a family owned-and-operated oasis restaurant, located steps away from the Woodley Park Zoo, nestled between two cream-colored brick residential buildings, is an understated maroon canvas awning that marks the location of an intimate local neighborhood restaurant & bar. LiLLiES whips together international modern cuisine- flavors and fresh ingredients to form a range of made-from-scratch meals.
Why did you decide to locate in Woodley Park? What appeals to you about this neighborhood?
LiLLiES Restaurant & Bar opened in 2011 near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue, N.W. and Cathedral Avenue, after our daughter coerced us to into leasing the space. We selected the place over dozens of other places, based on our community roots and commitment.
For me and Yasmin Woodley Park is home, We have lived in Woodley Park for the last 17 of nearly 40 years we have lived in D.C.
We raised our kids here. We’re family people and we treat our customers like family. We are committed to capture the feel of the Woodley Park neighborhood.
We are a local neighborhood restaurant that prides itself in promoting other small businesses in the Washington area, We only use Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. vendors for our food, beverages and other restaurant needs.
What makes your business noteworthy?
With LiLLies we have tried to give Woodley Park residents an intimate neighborhood bistro-casual that reminds them of home: a cozy and welcoming place where you would long to return to enjoy your favorite dishes.
Our spacious umbrella-dotted patio is a perfect setting for a weekend brunch, midday meal, or after-work dinner and drinks as you bite into European-style paninis, wraps, and surf and turf entrées.
The terrace patio has mosaic tables providing seating perfect for catching up with friends over a tasty coffee. Inside, hardwood floors lead our patrons to cozy couches for conversation, the bar seating great for meeting your neighbors, and romantic candlelit tables topped with a fresh rose bud.
We also have a private dining room tucked in the rear of the restaurant, the room has exposed brick and a candelabra-adorned fireplace, perfect for an intimate ambience during special events.

Our Patrons are treated like family, whether they live next-door or are just passing through after a day of Zoo trekking or conference-attending.
At LiLLiES we have tried to stamp “welcome” in all aspects of dining experience.
